Use this workflow to connect the LytxOne Gateway (LX1-G) to your vehicle using the J1939 Install Kit (16-Pin) (HCA-16J391-01), a 16-pin J1939 (J1962) connection for specific medium and heavy-duty vehicles, such as Isuzu, Hino, and Mack, that use an OBD-II-shaped diagnostic port wired for the J1939 protocol.

Note
This cable is for vehicles with a 16-pin, OBD-II-shaped port wired for
J1939,
not the round 9-pin Deutsch connector. If your vehicle has the round
9-pin
port, use the
J1939 Install Kit (9-Pin)
instead.
Connect the Cable
- With the engine off, locate the vehicle's diagnostic port, typically beneath the dashboard near the driver's side.
- Connect the 16-pin connector to the vehicle's port. The connector is keyed, the wider side of the trapezoidal shape faces up. Push firmly until fully seated.
- Confirm the cable is clear of the vehicle's pedals, steering linkage, and other moving parts. Physically operate all pedals through their full range of motion to check.
- Connect the Molex connector to the PWR/OBD port on the LytxOne Gateway.
- Mount the Gateway in a safe, hidden location under the dash, avoiding areas that may heat up or shift while driving.
To finish the installation, continue to Step 3: Mount & Wire to secure the Gateway and mount the Camera, then Step 4: Activate, Verify, Complete to activate and verify the installation.
