| Component |
Description |
| 14-pin RP1226 connector |
Plugs directly into the vehicle's RP1226 diagnostic port |
| Gateway connector |
Connects to the PWR/OBD port on the LytxOne Gateway |
Note
The RP1226 connector shape is standardized, but the protocol running through it can vary by vehicle, OBD-II, J1939, or J1708. The connector itself doesn't indicate which protocol is present. The Gateway reads whichever protocol the vehicle uses over this connection.
Note
The RP1226 connector is typically located at the driver's side kick panel or center console, and may require removing a trim panel to access. Some vehicles have more than one RP1226 connector, confirm you're using the primary connector intended for telematics devices.
Connect the Cable
- With the engine off, locate the vehicle's RP1226 port. Remove any trim or kick panel covering it if needed.
- Connect the 14-pin connector to the vehicle's RP1226 port. Push firmly until fully seated.
- Confirm the cable is clear of the vehicle's pedals, steering linkage, and other moving parts. Physically operate all pedals through their full range of motion to check.
- Connect the Molex connector to the PWR/OBD port on the LytxOne Gateway.
- Mount the Gateway in a safe, hidden location under the dash, avoiding areas that may heat up or shift while driving.
To finish the installation, continue to Step 3: Mount & Wire to secure the Gateway and mount the Camera, then Step 4: Activate, Verify, Complete to activate and verify the installation.
