Freightliner M2 (HCA-VICM2-01)

Use this workflow to connect the LytxOne Gateway (LX1-G) to a Freightliner M2 using the Freightliner M2 cable (HCA-VICM2-01). This cable has a Molex connector on one end for the Gateway, and a vehicle-specific pigtail on the other end that connects directly to the M2's factory splice pack, no add-a-fuse adapter is used, since these vehicles use a different power distribution system than standard fuse boxes.

What You Will Need

1. LytxOne Gateway
2. Freightliner M2 cable (HCA-VICM2-01)
3. Multimeter (recommended, not included)

Note
On the Freightliner M2, constant power and ground are typically available through two labeled splice packs, "Power Battery" and "Ground Electronics", located near the vehicle's J1939 connector. Splice pack location can vary by model year, use a multimeter to confirm before connecting.

Connect the Cable

1. With the engine off, locate the vehicle's J1939 connector area and identify the "Power Battery" and "Ground Electronics" splice packs nearby. 
2. Use a multimeter to confirm the Power Battery splice pack provides constant 12V power, and that Ground Electronics provides a stable ground. 
3. Connect the pigtail's power lead to the Power Battery splice pack. 
4. Connect the pigtail's ground lead to the Ground Electronics splice pack. 
5. Confirm the cable is clear of the vehicle's pedals, steering linkage, and other moving parts. Physically operate all pedals through their full range of motion to check. 
6. Connect the Molex connector to the PWR/OBD port on the LytxOne Gateway. 
7. Mount the Gateway in a safe, hidden location, avoiding areas that may heat up or shift while driving.

To finish the installation, continue to Step 3: Mount & Wire to secure the Gateway and mount the Camera, then Step 4: Activate, Verify, Complete to activate and verify the installation.
