New: Media Library
The Media Library collects safety-event, alert, downloaded and saved-still media in one place. Media appears in List or Tiles view, with filter pills and a driver picker. The item panel can be dragged wider, and the page works on phones. Find it under Recordings → Media Library.
The Gallery tab browses a vehicle's camera stills over a date range and loads more as you scroll. Any still can be saved to the Library. Stills can also be saved from Video Search and from a vehicle's live camera view using Save to Media Library.
Media that is not pinned is removed from the Library at the end of its retention period and cannot be recovered. Video may be required in connection with a collision, claim, insurance matter, investigation or legal proceeding. Fleets are responsible for pinning or exporting media they need to keep, consistent with their own legal, insurance and preservation obligations, including any litigation hold.
Video and camera stills are captured under the fleet's control. Fleets are responsible for providing any notices and obtaining any consents required by applicable law.
Note
The Media Library is enabled per fleet. Contact your account team to confirm it is available for your account.
New: Pedestrian Detection Events
Pedestrian detections from front-facing and auxiliary cameras create safety events with media, in addition to the in-cab driver alert. The events appear in Safety Center.
On fleets using Driver Safety, pedestrian events arrive as FYI Notify events under Driver Safety → Tasks and count toward the driver's Safety Score.
Pedestrian detection is a driver assistance aid. It does not identify every pedestrian, and does not replace attentive driving or the driver's judgment. See www.lytx.com/legal/driver-information
Pedestrian events include video captured under the fleet's control. Fleets are responsible for providing any notices and obtaining any consents required by applicable law, and for how event and score data are used, including compliance with applicable employment, collective bargaining and privacy obligations.
Note
Fleets using pedestrian detection should expect more safety events following this release, and Safety Scores on Driver Safety fleets may change as pedestrian events are counted. Pedestrian detection is enabled per fleet. Contact your account team to confirm it is available for your account.
New: Support Tickets
Fleet users can open support cases from the portal, follow the conversation and reply, including agent replies with their original formatting. A ticket can include a category, vehicle or IMEI, contacts and attachments, and can be started from the Vehicles row menu. Tickets open from the row's menu using View, and the list shows up to 200 tickets per page.
Note
Support Tickets are enabled per fleet and are off by default. Contact your account team to confirm it is available for your account.
New: Knowledge Base Results in Ask Lytx
Ask Lytx can include knowledge base articles in its answers. An Include knowledge base results toggle controls this, and an Open knowledge base link opens the source article.
Ask Lytx responses are generated by AI and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Verify important information before relying on it.
Note
Knowledge base results are enabled per fleet and are off by default. Contact your account team to confirm availability for your account.
New: AS36 Trailer Asset Tracker
The AS36 Trailer Asset Tracker is supported. It reports every minute while the trailer has power and sends a heartbeat every 12 hours while running on battery. Battery level, battery energy and internal battery voltage appear the same way as for AS35 trackers, on the vehicle card and vehicle details panel on the Map. AS36 can be selected in the Assets type filter.
Reporting intervals are targets, not guarantees. Battery life is an estimate based on the stated reporting configuration. Actual battery life and reporting frequency vary with temperature, cellular coverage and configuration, and are not guaranteed.
Beta features are provided for evaluation, may change or be withdrawn without notice, and may not perform as described.
Note
The AS36 Trailer Asset Tracker is in beta. Contact your account team to confirm it is available for your account.
New: Asset Time Zone for Trips and Reports
Trips and the Idling Event, Speeding and Vehicle GeoFence reports have an Asset time zone option, alongside Fleet and Local. Asset shows each row in the local time where the event happened.
CSV exports and scheduled reports add "(Asset TZ)" time columns and an Asset Timezone column. The public API adds an assetTimezoneIana field to GET /trips/v2 and GET /safety/v2.
Improvement: Updated Names
Several names have been updated across the portal, the Driver App, alert emails and exported data:
-
Near Collision is now Possible Collision across Driver Safety, including the dashboard, coaching workflow and behavior settings, coaching tasks and sessions, the Assign Drivers event preview and the Tag Report, as well as Safety Center, every event filter and trip map event markers. Alert emails, driver self-coaching and Driver Safety show readable event names, such as Seat Belt.
-
AI Assistant is now Ask Lytx in the menu, the chat page and the side chat panel, in every language.
Note
Update training material, SOPs and saved filters that refer to the previous names.
Improvement: Posted-Speed Events
Posted-Speed events are not raised on roads posted at 15 mph or less. This reduces events from parking lots, yards and private roads.
Posted speed limits are derived from third-party road data, which may be incomplete, out of date or inaccurate for a given location. Posted-speed events are indicative and should be verified before being relied on. Fleets are responsible for how speed data is used, including compliance with applicable employment, collective bargaining and privacy obligations.
Note
Fleets should expect a change in posted-speed event volume following this release. Events recorded before the release are unchanged.
Improvement: Speeding and ADAS Alert Timing
Over-posted-limit speeding alerts are delivered Immediately. Allow correction is not offered for posted-limit speeding, or for the Rolling Stop Sign, Red Light and Pedestrian alerts in ADAS settings.
In-cab alerts are a driver aid only. Drivers should never wait for a warning before taking measures to avoid an accident. See www.lytx.com/legal/driver-information.
Note
Fleets that had Allow correction selected for these alerts now show Immediately. Review Settings → Safety → Speeding and Settings → Safety → ADAS, and update training material and SOPs that refer to Allow correction for these alerts.
Improvement: Vehicle Health Timing
A vehicle is marked Degraded after 15 minutes without a GPS fix, so brief gaps in coverage such as garages and canopies do not change its status. A vehicle is marked Unhealthy after the cabin camera has been blocked for 5 minutes.
Health details, CSV exports and history match the vehicle's health status, and history includes Low Battery.
Note
Health status changes take effect after these waiting periods, so fleets should expect fewer short-lived Degraded and Unhealthy statuses. Fleets that monitor GPS or cabin camera conditions should review vehicle health history, and should not rely on health status as the sole means of detecting a condition.
Vehicle health is derived from device connectivity and sensor data. Availability and accuracy vary by vehicle, device and configuration. Alerts and notifications depend on device connectivity, cellular coverage and email delivery, and should not be relied on as the sole means of detecting an event or condition.
Improvement: Safety Dashboard Date Ranges
Safety dashboards count trips within the selected date range, in the fleet's time zone. The Assign Drivers page opens on the last 30 days, the Unassigned Drivers tile covers the same period, and the date picker accepts past dates only.
Note
Fleets outside UTC may see different totals than in earlier views of the same date range. The Safe Driving report counts completed trips only toward quarterly activity and distance.
Fleets are responsible for how safety scores and driver data are used, including compliance with applicable employment, collective bargaining and privacy obligations.
Improvement: AI-Dismissed Safety Events
Fleet users see safety events that remain after AI review. Events dismissed by AI review and the AI Verification column are not shown to fleet users in the Safety Center, Driver Safety events, trips, CSV exports, scheduled reports, the public API or Ask Lytx.
AI review is an aid to a fleet's safety program. It may dismiss events that warrant review, and should not be relied on as the sole means of identifying safety events.
Note
Event counts and exports may read differently than before. Fleets with processes that depend on the AI Verification column should review them. To review events dismissed by AI review, contact Lytx Support.
Improvement: Assign Drivers and Coaching
Assign Drivers has a Dismiss Selected button for dismissing many unassigned events at once. After a bulk assign, the selection clears so already-assigned events are not selected for dismissal.
Each driver has one Face-to-Face Due for Coaching card. Cards show the coaching type and can be filtered by type. Escalating a coaching task to Face-to-Face carries the task's events with it.
Fleets are responsible for how coaching and driver data are used, including compliance with applicable employment, collective bargaining and privacy obligations.
Improvement: Fleet Settings Layout
Fleet Settings is organized into Vehicle device settings and Cloud settings. Each section says where its settings apply and when changes take effect.
Note
Settings have moved within Fleet Settings. Update training material and SOPs that refer to setting locations.
Improvement: Asset Tracker Reporting Intervals
Reporting intervals set for the whole fleet or in a Settings Profile apply to AS35, AD21 and AT16 asset trackers, as well as per-asset settings. The fleet-wide interval is set in Settings → Fleet Settings → Unpowered Asset Reporting Interval (Hours).
Improvement: Safety Event Video
The safety event panel has Open in Recordings and Open in Video Search links that open on the event's vehicle at the event time. Video Search says when no footage remains at that time. Recordings and Video Search can download several cameras at once as a single zip, and playback in Video Search skips periods with no recording. On mobile, Open in Recordings goes straight to the player.
Recorded video is available only for the retention period configured for the vehicle. Fleets are responsible for downloading and preserving video they need to keep.
Improvement: Reports and Exports
Report downloads follow the page's sort order across Trips, Safety, HOS, Assets, Drivers, Tags and IFTA. Users, Tags and Products exports apply the page's filters. CSV exports include up to 100,000 rows, and a notice at the end of the file indicates when more data matched. Order exports show dates in the fleet's time zone, and the alerts export downloads as alerts.csv.
Scheduled reports follow the fleet's time zone across daylight saving changes.
Note
If a download ends with a notice that more data matched, narrow the date range or filters and export again.
Improvement: Portal Sessions
Reloading the portal keeps users signed in for up to 7 days. Removing a user's access ends their session.
Note
Fleets with sign-in or session policies should review them against the 7-day reload window.
Improvement: Fleet Audit Log
The Fleet Audit Log requires a Time filter, and ranges are limited to 90 days.
Note
Saved views without a supported time range open on the last 24 hours.
Improvement: Public API
Integrators can filter safety events by several trips or drivers at once. GET /assets is retired and returns 410; use GET /assets/v2. API documentation identifies which fields are nullable or required. The live asset stream and API include vehicle health status and reasons.
Note
Update integrations that call GET /assets to use GET /assets/v2.
Improvement: Camera Gallery Recording Indicator
The recording-missing badge in Camera Gallery is hidden by default.
Note
To show the recording-missing badge for your fleet, contact your account team.
